Your Haringey Huskies are delighted to announce the signing of defenceman Peter Toth.

Peter joins us from Widnes Wild, where he was part of the team that lifted the NIHL 1 play-off trophy at iceSheffield several weeks ago.

Peter is not only new to the Huskies but is also new to the NIHL South. However, despite being just 22 years old he already has plenty of experience, having played in the NIHL North and in North America.

Born in Hungary, Peter played several years of junior hockey in Sheffield before moving to Canada. He spent two seasons with the Ontario Hockey Academy’s under-18 team before heading west for a season with the South Oregon Spartans of the Western States Hockey League – a Tier II junior league in the USA.

Back in the UK, he spent the 2018/19 season with Sutton Sting in NIHL1, before signing for Widnes ahead of the 2019/20 season.

Peter told us: “I am very excited to be joining the Huskies and can’t wait to play in front of the fans at Alexandra Palace and help the club defend its NIHL South 2 championship.”

Huskies head coach Dan Sampson is delighted to have Peter on board, adding: “This is an exciting signing for us. I was made aware of Peter’s interest by [former Huskies defenceman] Lewis Jones who gave me a good report on him. Peter is fresh from winning the North 1 Cup and the playoff finals and has also played NIHL1 league hockey a couple of seasons ago.

“He is a strong defenceman who knows how to play the game the right way. I am expecting a smart defensive game, along with the solid physical play that you get in the northern divisions.”

Peter will wear #6 for the Huskies. His home and away jerseys are available for ‘own and loan’ at a price of £60 each. Please email if you’re interested.
