Your Haringey Huskies are delighted to announce the signing of vastly experienced defenceman Shaun Yardley.

Shaun started his hockey career as a forward in his native Solihull, including three seasons in the old semi-pro, 8-import British National League with Solihull/Coventry Blaze, representing Great Britain at both under 18 and under 20 levels.

He then spent many years in the EPL with Peterborough Phantoms, interspersed with stints at Chelmsford and Romford, plus three games in the Elite League for Nottingham Panthers.

In more recent seasons he has been a familiar opponent for us, switching to defence and playing with Peterborough’s NIHL2 team.

Shaun is delighted to come on board, telling us: “Like most players in recent times, I wasn’t able to play for a while and really missed it. So, after over 18 months out of the game, I am really happy to be joining the Huskies. I’m looking forward to getting back into it. I would like to thank Lee Mercer, along with the managers and coaches, for giving me this opportunity”.

Head coach Dan Sampson commented: “To be able to sign a player as experienced as Shaun was not an opportunity to be passed up. Shaun will add a calm presence at the back; he will strengthen our defence core and be a key player for the rest of the season. Shaun’s signing really shows we mean business and are aiming to win more silverware.”

Shaun’s home and away jerseys are available for ‘own and loan’ at a price of £60 each. Please email if you’re interested.
