Dynamic forward Joe Willingham has been retained by Haringey Huskies for the 2022/23 season.

Joe has played all his senior hockey for the Huskies, having come on board partway through our inaugural 2017/18 season. Popular in the room and energetic on the ice, Joe has become a key member of the Huskies roster in the intervening years.

Joe was unlucky with injuries throughout the 2021/22 campaign and was in and out of the line-up as a result, but still managed five goals and five assists in fifteen games.

Head coach Dan Sampson is pleased to keep Joe, saying: “Joe will continue to bring his high-energy game to the team. He hunts the puck down, finishes his hits and his versatility gives us different options on our forward lines. He even played defence on occasions last season and was equally as good in that position.

“He is a big part of the changing room and has a never-give-up attitude on the ice. He is also great on the penalty kill.”

Joe told us: “’I am looking forward to getting started this season. I had a fair few injuries last year, so I am keen to put them behind me and come back stronger.”

Look out for our 2022/23 ‘Own and Loan’ scheme, which will be launched later in June.
