Your Haringey Huskies are very happy to retain long serving defender Ryan Payne for the 2022/23 NIHL2 season.

Ryan’s association with Haringey hockey goes way back to his junior days in 2005. He subsequently played for the Greyhounds and Racers before joining the inaugural Huskies team in 2017.

Head coach Dan Sampson commented: “Ryan and Haringey are synonymous. Bringing a hard-hitting game with high energy, the ‘pain-train’ as he is known will once again don the Huskies jersey. Having a strong D-core is a big part of any team looking to push for silverware and Ryan adds to that once again.

“I am expecting Ryan to be consistent and produce numbers offensively, as he is a D-man that likes to join the rush. I am sure the fans will be ecstatic with his return.”

Ryan told us: “I’m happy to be returning for another year. I lost half of last season to injury, which was a minor set-back, so I’m looking forward to the new season a lot. I’m also looking forward to seeing who will be joining the pack, and to winning a few trophies this year.”

Look out for our 2022/23 ‘Own and Loan’ scheme – coming soon.
