Haringey Huskies are very happy to announce the re-signing of veteran defender Matt France for the 2022/23 season.

With unfinished business to take care of, Matt cannot wait to get started, telling us:

“I’m excited to be pulling on the jersey again with the boys to make amends for last season. It was a bitter pill to swallow finishing runner up in all competitions and the playoff final score line still hurts. It didn’t reflect the standard of performances we had been putting in all season.

“I know it’s driven the boys to work hard this off season and come back fitter and stronger so that we can be ready from the off, hopefully righting the wrongs and lifting some trophies in front of the fans this season.”

Head coach Dan Sampson sees this is an important signing, adding:

“It was always key to secure Matty back for next season, as he is a leader in the room and a natural born winner. A calming influence who knows what needs to be said at the right moments.

“Matty is a go to guy out on the ice; a key part of the powerplay with his heavy shot, putting the team first ahead of individual goals. He is also great with the younger guys coming through into the team, always having a word to help ensure they develop and progress in the right way.

“I know Matty is hungrier than ever to win silverware after being so close last season.”

Look out for our 2022/23 ‘Own and Loan’ scheme – coming soon.
