Your Huskies are delighted to announce the re-signing of experienced defender Matt France for the 2023/24 season.
Matt explains: “After taking some time over the summer to relax and reflect on last season, it felt like there was unfinished business and a desire to try and help the team right the wrongs of the last two seasons.
“We played some outstanding hockey at times last season but ultimately, we came up short and haven’t shown our true colours in the last two finals. Hats off to Guilford and Invicta; they were the better teams on both occasions, but as a club should be winning trophies, not just challenging.
“After a few skates with lads and speaking to Samps, it was hard to say no to coming back and trying to win the trophies this team and the fans deserve.”
Head coach Dan Sampson added: “Getting Matty to agree to return this season was always at the top of my list. Matty is a strong D-man with a fantastic shot. His knowledge and experience will once again be key this season and something the younger guys will be able to see, learn and develop off.
“He is great in the room, always looking to help the team improve and reach our goals. He adds to our strong D core once again.”
