We knew going into Saturday’s game that it was going to be a tough night. We were short benched, carrying a huge injury list and with a few players away, but from the first face-off to the OT winner, every single player gave everything they had.
The message before the game was clear — stick to our system, trust what we’ve been working on, and win our individual battles. And that’s exactly what we did. All night long, the boys stayed focused, played with discipline, and didn’t allow Guildford to play their game or dictate the play.
We created Grade A scoring chances all night long, moving the puck well and forcing their goalie to make some big saves. Defensively, we were strong, staying tight in our own zone and able to weather everything Guildford threw at us. The structure and effort without the puck were just as important as what we did offensively.
Once again — and we say it most weeks — we played great hockey for large parts of the game. Considering the adversity we faced, the group showed massive heart, discipline, and character.
This group deserved their win from the effort they showed all night long. If we keep that same focus, energy, and belief in the system, there’s no limit to what we can achieve together.
A huge thank you to all the fans who travelled to support us — you were incredible. It means a lot to the team to have that backing, especially as we picked up our first win in Guildford. Your support makes a difference every single night.
