Haringey Huskies 3, Bristol Pitbulls 2 24th October 2026 Storm Boelo comes hot on the heels of Austen. Brackish, rain whipped wind gusts for most of Saturday. There’s a febrile, uncanny quality in the air as I walk up The Avenue off Alexandra Park Road. There’s no one around. In the half hour it...
Haringey Huskies 5, Peterborough NIHL2 Phantoms 2 Saturday 17th October 2026 There’s so much to like about that. After the disappointing showing against Guildford, this had everything that we lacked the week before. Fight, cohesion, purpose, sheer bloody-mindedness. And most importantly, goals. It’s been a couple of years since we’ve been able to celebrate...
Haringey Huskies 2, Guildford Phoenix 5 Saturday 10th October 2026 I will never tire of meeting fans around the rink. There are so many passionate, enthusiastic, knowledgeable people who share in the support of this club that we all know and love, and we are fortunate to have the supportership that we do. Many bigger...
Haringey Huskies 7, Basingstoke Bison 1 Saturday 3rd October 2026 What’s that Gretzky quote? “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” On Saturday Haringey took this very much to heart and proceeded to take all the shots. Every single last one of them. I’m pretty sure they were still shooting as fans...
Haringey Huskies 5, Slough Spitfires 1 National Ice Hockey League Division 2 South & Wilkinson Cup 26th September 2026 Autumn’s here. Officially. A season of change and transition. Still too warm to wear a coat though. It’s been a changeable start to the hockey season too. A lot of the conventional wisdom and...
Haringey Huskies 2, Cardiff Canucks 3 Eddie Joseph Memorial Cup – presented by Hockey Hound 12th September 2026 I had to double-check and just remind myself that Cardiff isn’t our bogey team, that they don’t always do this to us, and thankfully the results don’t add up and are instead heavily stacked in our...
Welcome back for another exciting season for the Haringey Phantoms. Hang on, what!? That’s not quite right is it. No, Haringey remain the Haringey Huskies but you’d be forgiven for mistaking them for their rivals up the A1 considering how many players that have made the switch from orange and blue to black and white...
10 years. That’s pretty amazing. In that inaugural season the Huskies finished 10th, with an 8-1-1-16 record. They missed the playoffs by four points. A 21-year-old Stephen Woodford put up 35 points to claim top point scorer for the club. How things have changed. Ryan Payne and Stuart Appleby featured of course, so perhaps not...
There are countless tales across sport of teams that have had to wait for their moment. The Chicago Cubs waiting 108 years between World Series championships. The St. Louis Blues going 52 years without a Stanley Cup (this doesn’t help my point, but it still brings me joy to also list the Toronto Maple Leafs...
I’ve never seen a longer or more persistent queue for the shirt off the back. That’s star power for you. It was near enough up to the double-doors when I walked in. It’s funny, sitting in the stands you always get the same reaction of momentary shock from newcomers and day trippers when they see...
