Hello Huskies Fans,

I wanted to take a moment to share an important update regarding the club. As team owner, I’ve made the difficult decision to replace Pete as head coach. This wasn’t a decision I took lightly, but one I felt was necessary for the team to progress and mount a serious challenge in the playoffs.

I’d like to personally thank Pete for his efforts and dedication to the Huskies and wish him all the very best for the future.

In the meantime, I’m not one to shy away from responsibility, so I’ll be stepping in as interim coach. I’ll be working alongside someone who needs no introduction to you all: Dan Sampson. Together, we’ll do everything we can to get the team firing on all cylinders.

Turning to the hockey this weekend…

On Saturday, we simply didn’t get going and gave ourselves a mountain to climb. I’m sure Tom Pink will cover this in detail in his excellent match reports, but it was a frustrating evening for all of us.

Sunday’s cup semi-final return leg, however, sent a clear message: “We must do better.” The players were given a clear script, they knew what was expected, and to their credit, every single one of them gave everything they had, leaving it all out there on the ice.

We fought hard all night, and for large parts of the game, this was reflected on the scoreboard. Unfortunately, some tired mistakes cost us the win, but there’s plenty to work with and plenty of positives to take as we move forward together as one.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Guilford Phoenix on a hard-fought semi-final. We wish them and the Peterborough Phantoms the very best of luck in the final.

Finally, I’d like to thank you, the fans, for your incredible support. Whether you were there on Saturday or travelled to back us on Sunday, it never goes unnoticed. Your passion and dedication make all the difference.

Let’s push on together, as one Huskies family!
