Hey Huskies fans,

First off — what a noise and what support you gave us on Saturday night! That was the loudest I’ve heard our barn in a long time, and the team truly felt it. Thank you — we need that energy every week.

This week, I want to talk about one word: defence. In sport, defence means the players who stop the other team from scoring.

It’s an area we’ve been struggling with — both individually and as a unit. As a team, we’re committed to working hard and solving this together.

Saturday’s game against Guildford was no different from recent weeks. We’re creating Grade-A scoring chances but not converting them. The shot totals tell the story — I can’t remember the last time we outshot Guildford and maintained such strong offensive zone pressure.

The game itself, despite the scoreline, was end-to-end hockey. Without a few lapses and defensive mistakes, on another night we could easily have come away with the win.

Guildford are a well-set-up team across the ice and strong in all departments. When you face a team like that, everyone needs to be dialled in and disciplined for the full 60 minutes — and right now, we’re not playing 60-minute hockey.

We need to figure this out fast, as the games are coming thick and fast. Every shift, every play, every minute matters.

We’ll keep building, keep learning, and keep pushing. Your support makes a difference every time we hit the ice.

Let’s bring the noise Saturday and get back to winning ways!
