Dan Sampson has been appointed assistant general manager of the Haringey Huskies. The former head coach will be supporting GM Lee Mercer in the running of the club.
Lee told us:
“Dan has been by my side from day one when I created the Huskies and he is family to me, so Dan taking the role as assistant general manager for the ice hockey club was a no brainer for me.
“I welcome his support and input into moving the Huskies forward as we grow as a club; he will support in player recruitment, along with helping me maintaining team performance and driving the club’s long-term success.”
Dan added:
“When Lee spoke to me about taking on this role I didn’t need a second to answer. I said when I stepped down that I would still like to be involved with the club as it’s family to me.
“This role allows me to continue helping the club and team grow, whilst supporting Pete in his first season as head coach. I’m looking forward to the start of the season. We know the league has got a lot stronger again this year and every game will be a battle, but the team will be ready.
“I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at the first game and the amazing Palace atmosphere.”
