Your Haringey Huskies are thrilled to add netminder Petr Čech to the roster.

Upon retiring from professional football, Petr started his UK ice hockey career with Guildford Phoenix in 2019. He has since played for both Oxford City Stars and Chelmsford Chieftains, where he was a team-mate of Huskies player/coach James Pentecost.

Huskies general manager and coach Lee Mercer commented:

“Hey Huskies fans! I am absolutely delighted to announce the signing of Petr Čech!

“He’s a top-class ice hockey goalie with valuable experience on the ice with the Belfast Giants, as well as a cabinet full of major football honours. We’re confident he is going to raise standards across the entire club.

“His elite winning mentality will be huge for our young squad and give us a rock-solid foundation at the back.

“With Naomi out long-term, we also need to fill that gap with someone who can push Dylan and give him the chance to rest when needed, bringing real depth, energy, and competition to the squad.

“Let’s give Petr the warmest Huskies welcome possible!”

Petr told us:

“I was contacted by Pents about the possibility of joining Huskies and after further discussions about the future and the goals of the organisation and the team I decided to be part of the journey.

“I’m really looking forward to helping the team reach their goals!”

Petr will join the Huskies line-up once we have international clearance. We are sure all our supporters are looking forward to seeing him at Alexandra Palace in Huskies colours.
