Haringey Huskies are very pleased to introduce you to 17-year-old defender John Beldecos, who has signed up for the 2023/24 season.

John completed his junior hockey days with the Haringey Hounds at Alexandra Palace, captaining the under-18 team last season. Since the new year he has been training with us and is now ready to embark on his rookie senior season with the club.

Head coach Dan Sampson told us: “We have always wanted to bring players up from the Hounds into the Huskies and I am happy we have the chance to do that with John.

“He has been skating with us since the second half of last season and fitted in very well. He is strong, skates hard and keeps his game simple whilst taking care of his own end.

“We will be looking for him to learn and develop his game at this level. He will benefit from having Pete onboard to work with and I am sure he will be pushing for regular minutes in no time.”

John added “I’m really excited for my first year in senior hockey. I’m looking forward to learning from the older guys and helping the team achieve its goals.

“Also, I want to thank the Haringey Hounds who allowed me to develop through their programme”.

Welcome to the Huskies John.

Look out for our 2023/24 ‘Own and Loan’ scheme later in the summer.
