1-1

This is the hardest decision I have had to make during my time as Huskies head coach and not one that I have taken lightly. I have decided that the time is right to take a step back from leading this wonderful club. I have decided now is the time to put my family first and dedicate more of my time to my girlfriend and son.

I know the club is in a fantastic place with a clear vision. We have a great number of juniors coming through from the Hounds, which will continue to help drive us forward. It has been a real honour to have had the privilege to lead this fantastic club from the off. Each year it just got better and better. The friendships made will never fade, and all the great people who have been a part of the journey I just cannot thank you enough.

Firstly, the amazing Huskies fans who have never been anything other than fantastic whatever the outcome of a game. The support week in week out was truly amazing. Winning a league title and being so close the following years along with the playoff runs; it pains me we never quite got that over the line for you all.

To all the guys and girls who have played for me at the Huskies, I want to thank you all for the effort every week, the trust in what we wanted to achieve as a group and myself. The banter every week, the emotion each game, the highs and the lows we shared. The memories we made will last forever.

To Lou and Tim, I just want to say a huge thank you for everything you did for me. Without you we don’t play, we don’t train. The work you do behind the scenes that I saw is one of the reasons the team was able to compete where we did.

To Pete, a big thanks for helping out this season. I learnt a lot from you, and I know you will continue to help push the club forward.

To Lee this is not the end but a new challenge. I don’t have the words to really express my appreciation for the trust and belief you showed and gave me to lead your club. It has been a fantastic journey, and I couldn’t have been prouder to have done it with you.

I will still be a part of the Huskies next season but taking on a new role which I am excited for. I hope you all have a wonderful summer and see you all in September.

For the final time,

Coach Samps
