We are incredibly pleased to announce that captain Stuart Appleby has signed up to your Haringey Huskies for the 2024/25 season at Alexandra Palace.
Obviously, Stu doesn’t need much of an introduction to anyone with an interest in Haringey hockey. He is our leader, our heartbeat, and it really wouldn’t be the same without him.
He has played every single game since the Huskies were formed in 2017 – that is 181 games, in which he has amassed 60 goals and 114 assists.
Head coach Peter Taylor is delighted to have him on board:
“He is a great captain and leader and sets the standards both in the room and on the ice. He is often the first at the rink and the last to leave. He is super dedicated and is very good at helping the younger players learn what it means to be a senior hockey player.
“He is an unselfish player that works tirelessly for his team. He is brave and passionate and is Haringey through and through. I couldn’t be more pleased to have him signed up for next season.”
Stuart told us:
“I am delighted to announce that I’ll be pulling on the Haringey jersey for my 11th season this year.
“It’s hard to believe it’s been over a decade since I first started playing senior hockey at Haringey, and I’m so grateful for the incredible memories, teammates, and fans I’ve encountered along the way.
“Every year the league has become stronger and stronger; we have had a great core for many years who have kept us competitive. Hopefully with the likes of Marty, John, Benet, Moose and others who have come from the Hounds programme, or are continuing to grow through it, we can continue to push at the top end of the table.
“I hope all the fans are having a great summer and I look forward to seeing you in pre-season.
