Your Haringey Huskies are delighted to retain the services of all-time top scorer Stephen Woodford, ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Another player to have been with the Huskies since the start, Woody has made 168 appearances for the club, scoring 134 goals and adding 80 assists.
Head coach Peter Taylor said:
“Woody is a model professional and I’m delighted that he is back for another year. His passion and work rate are 10 out of 10 and he never takes a shift off. As well as having iron lungs, Woody has an eye for goal and consistently puts up points every season.”
Stephen reflected on his signing, telling us:
“For me it was never in question. This club is practically family to me now and it’s where I see myself spending the remainder of my career!
“From the boys out on the ice, to those behind the scenes, to the fans who support us week in week out, everyone involved in this club are just incredible people and I can’t wait to get back out there again.
“As a club I still think we’re very much heading in the right direction; it might not always be pretty but there’s so much talent coming through the ranks. I think as someone invested in this club there’s a lot to be excited about.
“Of course, I’m looking forward to putting the jersey back on and pushing once again for silverware, but as I get older I’m enjoying just as much using my experience to guide the younger lads and watch them develop into crucial members of the team, if I can keep up with them that is!
“Thanks again to the coaches and management for giving me the opportunity to play another season. Let’s give it everything! And finally to the fans, thank you for all the support, you are all amazing, and one of the main reasons I love this club.
